Orange Sky Adventures San Francisco Skyline

FAQ

Where does your Yosemite Trip depart from?

5 Isadora Duncan Lane — near the corner of Taylor and Post St. in downtown San Francisco.

What time does your Yosemite Trip depart/return home to San Francisco?

Our trips depart @ 7:15 a.m. on the first day of tour (check-in @ 7 a.m.), and we arrive home in San Francisco @ 10 p.m. on our final day of the tour.

What should I bring?

You should bring a jacket appropriate to the weather, a change of clothes, comfortable shoes for walking, sunscreen, a towel, and your toothbrush. At night, we have all the camping equipment to keep you warm. Bring your swimsuit in summer; bring warm clothes in winter.

Can I store my luggage?

Yes. We HIGHLY recommend leaving your larger suitcases in our secure storage shed in San Francisco. It makes your life easier and your legroom plentiful.

Do I need my own camping equipment?

No. We have tents, blankets, pillows, all the cooking equipment and warm sleeping bags. All you need to do is show up and be genuine.

Do we share a tent?

Probably. You can share with a friend, or if you’re traveling solo, we can pair you with a traveler of the same sex. You might get lucky and have a tent to yourself, but don’t count on it.

How do I pay for food?

All your food costs are included in your tour price for our Yosemite Camping Trip (except dinner on the way home from Yosemite).

For the Dirty South Trip and Coachella Tour, the food is free but only on the camping portions of the tours. In other words, when we’re in the woods, we’ll cover your food cost.

For our Yosemite Wilderness Hike, all of your backcountry meals are provided. You’ll only pay for lunch on our way up (and possibly dinner, depending on our hiking location) and your meal once we exit the woods.

What do you cook for meals?

We cook what feels good and discuss the menu with each group before we depart. If you have any special dietary requirements, please contact us.

Do you have an age limit?

Our longer tours (Dirty South Trip and Coachella Tour) are age 21+ and our Yosemite Camping Trips are for age 18+. No kids. No exceptions.

We are party- and activity-based. Because of that, our average age is 21-38 years old.

How large are the groups?

Our groups run anywhere from 3-8 people. We want the feeling of camping and road tripping with your friends.

Note: Because of the growing popularity of our Coachella Tour, we do a larger group if more guests request our trip. Not to worry, though, our integrity stays the same because of the type of road trip (a festival). The more friends, the better.

Are we required to tip?

It was only after MUCH debate we chose to include your tip in your tour price. So to answer your question, no. However for other service businesses (not Orange Sky Co.), we recommend you tip. It’s an American custom…and good manners.

What’s the difference between your Yosemite Camping Trips and Yosemite Wilderness Hikes?

On our Yosemite Camping Tours we drink beer and eat steak around other car campers (front country camping). On our Yosemite Wilderness Hikes, we trek into the backcountry and escape most, if not all, of the crowds, even during the busiest times of summer. Yosemite Wilderness Hikes also, because you carry your own weight and gear (provided by us), require you to be semi-athletic.

Do you offer rides from Los Angeles to Coachella?

No. If you want only a ride, check out the Coachella shuttle buses. We offer the chance to go to Coachella with friends and other solo travelers to party, not just a ride.

My Coachella tickets and shuttle passes are at Will Call. Will we pick them up?

Yes. No sweat. We still stop by Will Call first thing upon arrival. Remember to bring your passport or ID and CREDIT CARD YOU USED TO PURCHASE YOUR TICKETS AND SHUTTLE PASS.

Do you offer private tours?

Yes. We offer private tours for corporations and more. See Our White Label Tours page.

What’s your cancellation policy?
